Burial ground, Kings Chapel, Boston MA
Tremont Street, Boston
A black and white shot on Tremont Street near School Street, looking towards Suffolk University and the Commons. Prepared using layers and GiMP pseudogrey.
MIT Statue "Alchemist"
A few months ago, we did a night trip to Central Square for some delicious food and drinks at the Middle East, followed by an evening walk back towards the Charles taking pictures along the way. I HATED all my photos, which pushed me to finally learn more about my cameras various focusing modes, timers, interval shooting, and made me by a real tripod! This image here is a composite HDR image with tweaks here and there, too many to name.

Old wooden hunk
This is at my friend Chris’s place in Westminster, CO. He inherited it with the house, so this may be from California, since the original owner of his home migrated from there in the late 60s a built a ranch home in the best midMod style.
Granville Gulf waterfall encased in ice
A trip back from Stowe, VT, we took Rt 100 back home and circled Granville Gulf a few times in the car. Dominique was super happy to have spotted this waterfall. I spent a long time trying master my new tripod and manual focus and AE interval brackets. And then postprocessing in darktable..this is an HDR image of multipe long exposure shots.
Inverted snow
Experimental extreme treatment of a through away shot. It was properly in focus, etc but was not interesting except for the snow and the shadow and the animal tracks. I like it.
Ice rime on the chairlift
I liked the look of the ice rime fingers carved by wind, this was a day after a massive storm cycle in Feb 2020 in Vail, CO. Game Creek Bowl. Barely made it in from Boston and up to the hills, the highways closed the evening we got into the valley!
Another of the steeple
Which one is better?
By the side of the road (1 of 3)
One of three, this one focussed on the closest tree. I like the fingers of the trees reaching skyward. Almost no treatment to any of these. Morrissey Boulevard near the bridge, Google says its called Savin Hill Cove…..in Boston.
By the side of the road (2 of 3)
Second of three, this is focussed in the middle plane, blurring the tree that was the subject of the first image.
By the side of the road (3 of 3)
This was overly ambitious and not quite successful, I wanted to bring into focus the far cityscape visible through the trees. I did get it in focus but its too far away to be anything but an experiment rather than a good image.
Park Street tenement
Quick shot walking home into the sun, I like the atmosphere. I played to up the contrast bits but no overly treated, this is how it came off the camera. Park Street above Adams St in Dorchester’s Fields Corner.
Melville Avenue homes in the setting later winter sun
Another chance shot, not tenements this time. Close in to home.
