Few tourist pics from Cliff Walk in Ogunquit, ME

Few tourist pics from Cliff Walk in Ogunquit, ME

We recently went to Ogunquit, Maine for a birthday party. The cliff walk was recommended and definitely delivers. Too cold to setup the tripod and really shoot and the illumination was challenging. So, not the best work but tourist shots. We did love the detailed descriptions of the geology of the area, the fact that New England is not originally part of the ancient North American continent but drifted over as a splinter from the early African continent. And the hundred of millions of years of volcanic activity in the basalt columns and unbelievable layers upon layers pressed together into the metamorphic rocks and then squeezed and folded and bent by the colliding continents and push from the mid-Atlantic rift. A few hundred million years for an instant of visual enjoyment by an organism gazing at the their ancient ocean swimming ancestors fossilized remains. I am sure there is a philosophical lesson in there, somewhere.
