New York Autumn 2019

New York Autumn 2019

Finally, I am editing this trip’s photos. We spend a long weekend in NYC, at the Roxy Hotel in Tribeca. Would not stay in the hotel or the area again, not our kind of place. We wandered as usual, with very little plan except a lunch at the Whitney with my mother’s cousins Beth and Judy. That was delightful, and on a fabulous day….even though Dominique insists I tried to kill her riding there on the Citi blue bikes…that river bike path is gorgeous, another trip on our own bikes. We had a fabulous meal in Chinatown at a new place since our old place is closed for renovations. Excellent crab and geoduc and service that was not condescening. It did help that the clientele was not beardo’s and poseurs….which is what we found everywhere else including every bar we attempted to go into. Rule number 11: Dont go out on Friday or Saturday night! The Whitney was fun, the Highline cool but OVERUN and I am never ever going back to the Meatpacking District, too bad we didn’t come here 10-15 years ago (or even five). Overrun with 5,000,000 of my favorite subspecies of humans…..tourists, poseurs, fashion victims, yummy mummies, argh. The New Museum was a waste of time. Next time we will head to the Village, as we had fun again at Boucherie and My Wife Frieda’s was a new stumbled upon find as well.
