Recent photos from this winter 2019/2020

It has been a trying time as COVID-19 shuts down most of our life. We returned from trip to Colorado in mid-march (still processing photos) right into shutdown orders in Boston (and to boot, heard that anyone returning from Eagle and Summit County should self-quarantine due to a massive community spread there that went undetected). Well, I should have had plenty of time to edit photos and post them. But no, we have been paralysed by the news, and now, three weeks in barely, it seems the worst is coming (because it already has been incubating the past two weeks…..) I hope we get the mask and gown production going, I hope our front line medical workers and other critical people stay healthly and that we dont cut their pay and benefits and I really hope the testing regimes ramp up as promised in April. Then, once we have sorted this current mess and work to not be in this precarious a position again, we can open things up by late spring and be ready to detect, contain and heal those who will inevitably sicken from this new threat. It will eventually turn into another endemic risk circulating in the world, which will not go away, it will become another risk factor to be managed. But our pathetic preparedness, in a worlds most expensive health care system on the planet, not even the most basic items covered, because, really, who makes any money laying in gowns and masks and testing the ventilators. Who gets a bonus payment for avoiding a crisis, for making sure something boring like cotton swabs are made in your own country or that you have backup and stores of supplies, that infrastructure is paid for even it is waiting? But we let our bridges and our roads and our social bonds crumble and atrophy, so why should we be surprised that the glittering never ending construction sites of our most prestigious medical clusters (Longwood, I am looking at you) lack the basics of 19th century care. But no one gets a bonus for that.

I will have a lot of new shots to come, I have started to overcome my paralysis and given the confinement order, I can no longer avoid the fact - I have a LOT OF TIME ON MY HANDS. Click on the images below to go to the galleries…..
