Some local color.....

A recent walk from our Dorchester home to Forest Hills MBTA to catch the commuter rail to Needham to visit my mother and stepdad, we also took our cameras along. We like to find neat ways to walk in our City, incorporating walks into errands and trips where the obvious method is to jump in the car and waste our bodies and planet. Turns out to be about 3.5 miles, and except for crossing the Arborway at Forest Hills, very pleasant and really not much longer than a car. It was an early sunset, given the time of year (February) so even at 430pm, there was some great golden hour light, and later, blue hour. I was shooting with my new small lens, trying to learn how it focuses, and responds. Not as crisp, and most of the shots had to be discarded. Those that survived the cull received ample tweaking in darktable, mainly to boost color and change the tone curves…..lots of GAMMA 2.0 with exposure enhancement and color contrast…..
